Where have all the Bedroom Dressers Gone?

Have you noticed that a lot of bedroom photographs do not show a dresser, or perhaps the room doesn't contain a dresser?  If you don't have drawers, where do you put your underwear and socks?
So I decided to do some research and see if I could find pictures of beautiful bedrooms with dressers in them.
I didn't have to look further than this feature from House Beautiful of 100+ bedrooms.  It turns out dressers have not gone away (and no, everyone doesn't have a custom walk-in closet).

The white dresser above is perfect in the room and contains many drawers for storage.  I see many dressers similar in size and shape at thrift stores.  New paint, new knobs and you could have something very similar to this one.  I like the simplicity.

This bedroom is nice and restful.  I suspect their is a walk-in closet nearby.

Small chests of drawers like this one are great as bedside tables too.  Multiple function is good, especially in a small bedroom.  And in fact, it's hard to find them at a good price.  They are so versatile they go quickly at garage sales and thrift stores.

There is a lot of storage in this spacious bedroom.

Isn't this the most charming bedroom?  Charming but modern, I mean.  Those  touches of emerald green really spice it up.  The zigzag pattern on the dresser is a great way to add interest to any ho-hum furniture.  I love the perfect balance between traditional and modern in this room.

My dresser, above, which I found years ago at a consignment shop.  This piece holds so much, the drawers open and close very easily and it fits the space perfectly.  I am trying to "update" it by the accessories I put on top.  I would never ruin it by painting it.
Anyway, I am glad to see that designers are still adding functionality to bedrooms by including dressers.  These pictures show that they can add to a room's beauty as well.

Have a great week!
